BIB Medical Information
We ask that you please fill out the emergency medical information requested on the back of your bib number. In case of emergency, this provides quick and easy access to your personal information, allowing the medics to treat you in the quickest manner possible.
Relief
Each aid station has a shortwave radio operator who has access to contact emergency personnel if needed. If you are having a medical emergency, or you feel as though you cannot finish the race and need assistance, please contact a radio operator at a water station. They will contact the appropriate personnel.
Time Limit
Marathon
Marathon participants will have 7 hours to complete the course, requiring a minimum average pace of 16:30. Finish line area facilities will officially close at 2:30 p.m. Marathon participants must:
- Arrive at Mile 8.5 (marathon and half marathon split) by 9:40 a.m. Marathon arrivals after that time will be diverted to finish the half marathon course.
- Arrive at Mile 12 (entrance to 261 toll road) by 10:40 a.m. Late arrivals will be picked up and transported to the finish line, or diverted to the bike trail (this will shorten your course by approximately 1 mile)
- Arrive at Mile 20 (Irvine Blvd and San Canyon) by 12:50 p.m. Late arrivals will be transported to the finish line.
- All finish line area facilities will officially close at 2:30 p.m.
- Participants that were picked up off the course will be dropped off prior to the finish line, allowing them to walk the last few steps of the race. The exact location of drop off is to be determined.
Half Marathon
The OC Half Marathon will also be required to finish within 7 hours. All walkers are encouraged to participate in the half marathon.
Runner's Gear
Drop off your personal belongings at the start line at the Runner's Gear Trucks, located in the Edwards Big Newport Parking lot. Items must be dropped off no later than 7:15 am in order to be transported to the finish line. Belongings may be picked up at the finish line on Gateway Boulevard by the shuttle pick up. Runners must provide bib number in order to claim their bags. We suggest you bring your own reasonably sized bag, as it is quicker to identify upon pick up. No large over-size duffle bags please. Clothing and other items left at the start line and along the race route will be collected and donated to charity that day. Please do not include items of value. The OC Marathon is not responsible for missing items.
