Mrs. Martin joined the Orange County Marathon as Executive Director in August of 2005. Prior to that, Mrs. Martin was the Executive Director of the Orange County Bar Foundation for 18 years. Mrs. Martin also worked as a Council Aide for the City of Irvine, a program coordinator for the Volunteer Center of Orange County, and a teacher for several Orange County school districts. Mrs. Martin and her husband Dick have lived in Orange County for the past 40 years. Mr. Martin, a retired school administrator, currently serves as a Juvenile Justice Commissioner.

An active community volunteer, Mrs. Martin is serving as the Sustainer Representative on the Board of the Junior League of Orange County. She has also served as a judge for the Register Charities Awards and as an officer on the National Conference of Bar Foundations Board. A long time Irvine resident, Mrs. Martin served as a founding member of the National Charity League of Irvine, the Irvine Historical Society and Friends of the Irvine Public Library.

Mrs. Martin graduated from the University of Arizona as did her husband Dick, daughter Vanessa, son Barry, son in law Matt and daughter in law Janelle. The Martins are the proud grandparents of Joe 10, Max 6, Charlotte Jane 2 and Ava Rose, 18 months.
