Hello!

I want to be part of the pace team; is there any way I can do this?

Are you wanting to be one of our pacers? If so, what pace would you be interested in running. If you are looking to participate in one of the groups to hit a particular goal, we will be having more info online as well as a table at the expo.

Yes, I would like to be one of your pacers for the marathon (if it would be possible). I noticed that you don't have a pace group at 3:30 for the marathon. If you guys would like, I would be able to pace at this time. My PR for the marathon is 3:07 (and that wasn't with serious training ).

If we sign up for a pace team do we have to wear bibs on our backs that announce our goal time? I know it's stupid, but this is mental death for me. I want to sign up for the 3:40 pace team but hate the fact that I'll be announcing it.

Nope! I'm sure that you don't have to announce the pace group you sign up for. I don't think anyone really "signs up" for a pace group. Pace groups are just there to help pace, and runners can even run ahead or behind of a pace group if they feel like it.

Edit:

Actually, after reading the Pace Groups link on the left: "The pace team is free for all registered participants and sign-up lists will be available at the Health, Fitness & Nutrition Expo."

I guess you DO sign up for a pace group. But I'm pretty sure you don't have to wear the time on your back if you don't want to. I don't think that you have to stay with your pace group that you signed up for, either.

But you should have someone who is actually organizing this race tell you all the correct information; as I'm just someone who's interested in pacing.

See I was thinking the same as you, but you do actually have to sign up. I didn't know if by signing up we were required to wear the bib or not. I know i could just 'drop-in' on a group but I'd rather not do that.

You're interested in being a pace-setter? What time? I'm awful at pacing myself, just awful!
