The OC Marathon Website & Running Blog

by OCMStaff on 20 Aug 2009 10:14 PM

The OC Marathon is launching this new website as more effective way to communicate with our participants, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. Our goal is to make this a more than a one weekend a year event. We hope that this new website will provide a forum for connection with your fellow runners, our sponsors, charity partners, Kids Run the OC coaches and participating schools, expo vendors, ICR Beach Runners training program and so on. We hope everyone registers for our new site as we will be using this as a forum for communicating health and fitness tips, registration information, race weekend details and all the other things associated with the event. If you register for the site, you will be able to participate in our blogs/forums and social network.

To start, we'd like to get your feedback on the new site; join our community by registering for the site above and then let's hear from you! Thank you for your interest in the OC Marathon and our new web site.

I love the website and am looking forward to finishing my first marathon on your course. I like the course map, but it would also be helpful to see pictures of portions of the course...perhaps a previous race. Also does your race give a finisher metal or T-shirt for marathoners?

jhammett,
Thank you for you interest and yes we will be posting pictures from locations on the course map.
All participants will receive a the Official OC Marathon Technical Running shirt at the expo prior to the race and a finisher's medal upon completion.
Good luck on your training and finishing your first marathon!!!!!

Hank,
Yes we will be having the Nutrilite Health and Fitness Expo, Friday and Saturday at the OC Fair and Event Center. We will also be having a separate Kids expo as part of our "Kids Run the OC" on Saturday.
Look forward to seeing you and check back to our site often for additional updates.

I've noticed the map of the course(s) only shows up on certain browsers. Is this being addressed? I can see the maps on my friend's computer but not on my home or work computers.
Thanks!
